The 2008 Stripes yearbook will be delivered in mid-May,
according to information from the publisher, Taylor Publishing Co. An exact date for distribution has not yet been
set.
A limited number of extra books will be available for sale on the day of distribution for $85 cash, Dianne Smith,
adviser, said.
"We expect the extras to sell out quickly," Smith said. "Be in line early with the correct change."
Smith
reminds students that it is a good idea to order books early to be assured of getting one in the future.
"Sales for
the 2009 book will open on the Smart-Pay web site on June 1," Smith said. "You won't receive a letter from Smart-Pay about
yearbooks until after school starts in the fall, because we have to provide them with a current student list for the school
year. We will not be able to do that until after school starts. However, you can go ahead and order the books online when
sales open, and be done with it."
The 2009 book will cost $72 through Smart-Pay if ordered before sales close out in
mid-January.
"Taylor Publishing Co. sets a January deadline for book orders so they know how much cover material and
paper stock will be needed for our book order," Smith said. "We can leave a limited number of books in the system for a few
weeks or until sellout at that price, but they go very quickly."
In addition, some books may be available at distribution
for a higher price.
"We want to encourage students and parents to purchase their books early through Smart-Pay," Smith
said. "When books are ordered early, we have a better idea of how much we have to work with and what we can include in the
way of pages. We don't expect to make a big profit, but we do need to break even on costs."
