We are the advanced journalism students at Travis High School. We produce the Eye of the Tiger, The Tiger's Roar, and
the Stripes yearbook. We handle the announcements and hope to inform you through a morning news show beginning in the fall
of 2008. We videotape events, compile news packages, photograph various events and stay in touch with the newsmakers so we
can keep you informed.
The media team concept is a new approach in high schools. Rather than have a separate newspaper staff and yearbook staff,
beginning next year, all advanced journalism students will be involved in all aspects of media production, from print to video
to web.

Samantha has served as editor of Eye of the Tiger since the year Travis opened and has been instrumental in getting the
publications off the ground. She was also the first Travis student to advance to state competition in the University Interscholastic
League Academic contests. She won 1st place in district in news, features and headlines, advancing to regionals. She advanced
to state following the regional meet, winning 2nd place in headlines.
In 2008, she won 2nd place in headlines, advancing to regionals.

Lizz is a part of the Class of 2009. She has been involved in Journalism on a high school level for 3 years. For the
past two years she has been an editor of the Travis Stripes Yearbook. She currently is working at Best Buy in the Geek Squad.
Her passions include writing, traveling, and spending time with the people she loves. Her dreams include writing a NY Times
best seller, be on Saturday Night Live, and travel around the world.

Kelsey is a proud member of the Class of 2009. Kelsey is President on the Belles Dance Team, Vice President of the American
Sign Language Club, a class representative for Student Council, one of the Editors of the Stripes Yearbook, a member of Best
Buddies and a Crew Leader for Link Crew. Outside of school, she is active in her church, Faith United Methodist Church.
She participates in a summer work camp with her church, called U.M. A.R.M.Y. where she works with a team to renovate houses
for less fortunate. After graduating from Travis, Kelsey looks forward to attending Texas
Tech University and studying
Mass Communications with a focus in Advertising or Public Relations.

Ashley, a member of the Class of 2009, has served as editor of the yearbook for one year. She has also been on the Belles
Dance Team. In her spare time, Ashley is a model.

Alia is a member of the Class of 2011. She has enjoyed writing stories since before she can remember. She likes watching
movies and chilling with friends, and spends some of her time "messing around" on the Internet.

Briana is a smart, intelligent girl who loves life. She says she often finds it hard to deal with high school and looks
forward to graduation. She tries to keep her focus on school and keep her grades up.

Alim is a member of the Class of 2009 and is involved in many school activities such as Y.E.S. Club, Travis Link Crew,
Debate Club, Tigers Today morning show and the nationally recognized HOSA Club.He enjoys sports and computers and is fluent
in four languages.

Chandlar was born in College Station, Texas. Chandlar can't decide if he wants to be a rapper, an actor or a football
player. He is a member of the Class of 2009.
